Young Apprentice Final

Tonight sees the final of this series of The Young Apprentice. Over the last eight weeks we have seen a group of teenagers take part in tasks that many adults would hash up, and very often do in the senior version of the show. So who is going to win, our money is on young James McCullagh from Portstewart, Northern Ireland.

We have been firmly behind James from the very beginning, he will forever be known as 'Captain Vanilla' and also known for many other fantastic one liners "there's not much maths in economics" (which to be fair to James there's not, otherwise I would never has passed my ALevel). He will also possibly go down in history for over use of the phrase 'I don't agree with that' which many may have found annoying but more often than not he was talking sense and good on him for voicing his opinion.

Good luck tonight James, we are looking forward to seeing you at the Young Apprentice Party at the Playhouse Portrush for the unveiling of the winner. Fingers crossed we will be cheering on the winner, but you are a winner is our eyes and fine example to all young people trying to achieve their dreams in todays business world.

Go For It

The Go For It programme is a fantastic initiative to help entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland get started, they point you in the right direction and are on hand to give you continued support, they certainly helped us get Epitome off the ground, and 18 months later I am never going to look back. http://www.goforitni.com/index.php/news/75-epitome-recruitment-coleraine-co-londonderry

'worlidays' the new holiday...

After spending a month in the sun this summer with kids and husband, but working for 3 out of the 4 weeks, I was delighted to come across this article that lessoned my guilt of working so much whilst away... the fact is, being able to take a 'worliday' give me so much more flexibility, 6 hours work in the morning till early afternoon, followed by afternoons by the pool and terrace BBQ's, now that is "the best way to work".

Testimonials

It's always great to get feedback from clients, even better when the sing your praises. This is what our clients have to say about our service:

“Following several unsuccessful attempts to recruit a cosmetics buyer for our retail group, I contacted Emma Gunes at Epitome to try a different route to market.  I had previously tried press and specialist magazine advertising, along with traditional recruitment agencies in Jersey, Northern Ireland and mainland UK.  The concern with filling a vacancy through a traditional agency is the high fees which are payable, and are non-refundable after the individual has been in post longer than 3 months.

Epitome’s flat fee, “no appointment no fee” system not only gave me the confidence of knowing how much I would need to budget, the personal service I received was also of an extremely high standard.  I chose the middle range package which meant that applicants were shortlisted and initially screened by Epitome before being recommended to us for interview.

The standard of candidates was high and I was delighted to appoint a candidate in early March.  She is settling in well and already beginning to add value to our business.

I will definitely be using this innovative, cost effective route to recruitment again and would recommend it to others without hesitation.”

“Following years of using traditional recruitment agencies, we started using the services of Epitome in 2010.  Initially, our objective was to save costs.  We have certainly done that.  Using Epitome’s premium service at £995 per campaign our typical cost per placement has reduced by over 50%.  So what about service?  There has been no diminution there.  We have not seen any drop off in the number and quality of well screened candidates and the account management offered by Epitome has been to a very high standard.”
